Matte glaze absorbs light instead of reflecting it, so colours read deeper and softer, and the surface never produces glare. This makes it the easier finish for bright rooms — a south-facing window or a sunlit shelf won't create a hotspot on the surface, and the colour looks the same at midday as it does in the evening. It is also the most forgiving finish to live with day to day: fingerprints don't show, so the urn can be picked up and set back down without needing a wipe afterwards.
If you want something that sits quietly in a room rather than draws the eye to it, Near the Rainbow Pet Urn is the one to choose.
Textured Finish
Crafted with a bespoke hand-painted matte texture, each vessel draws its hues from the cherished, ordinary magic of life shared with a pet—a tangible memory held in your hands.

Textured glaze has a deliberately uneven surface, so it is the finish you notice through touch as much as through sight. Light behaves unevenly across it — one area may catch and hold the light while the rest stays soft — which means it reads differently depending on where you place it and what time of day you look at it. Like matte, it doesn't show fingerprints, and the varied surface also hides dust better than a flat glaze does.
It suits people who want something that clearly looks handmade, and it sits naturally alongside wood, linen, and other tactile materials.
Glossy Finish
With a high-gloss finish that captures and reflects every ray, this collection celebrates the dazzling spirit of a pet that lit up every room—their presence, forever brilliant.

Glossy glaze reflects light rather than absorbing it, which gives colours more brightness and visible depth. It works hardest in rooms where there is light to catch — near a window, on a mantelpiece, beside a lamp — and it keeps a presence even in darker corners, because the reflection itself reads as brightness.
The trade-off is maintenance: fingerprints and dust are more visible on a glossy surface than a matte one, though both clear with a quick pass of a dry soft cloth.
Choose glossy if you want the urn to be something you notice, rather than something that blends into the shelf.
Every Twinkle Land urn is made from slip-cast porcelain and finished by hand. That means no two are truly identical — the glaze pools a little differently, the light catches at a slightly different angle, and small variations in tone are part of what makes each piece its own.
What you are really choosing here is a finish. Matte, glossy, and textured are not just surface details; they change how an urn sits in a room, and how it feels to look at every day.
The collection is grouped by finish below. Each of our urns holds 65 cubic inches and suits cats, dogs, and small pets alike, so you can choose entirely on how a piece feels to you.
FAQs
What's the difference between matte and glossy?
Matte absorbs light — deeper, softer colours, no glare, and fingerprints don't show. Glossy reflects it — brighter colours with more visible depth, but fingerprints are more noticeable. Matte suits bright rooms; glossy suits mantelpieces and darker corners.
Are colour variations or small marks a defect?
No. Each urn is slip-cast in porcelain and finished by hand, so glaze settles slightly differently in every firing. Small shifts in tone and minor surface irregularities are normal characteristics of handmade ceramics, and your piece will differ slightly from the photographs.
Will the finish fade or change over time?
Fired ceramic glaze is stable and doesn't fade with normal indoor display. Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight, and avoid household cleaners and abrasives — those can dull a glaze faster than light will.
Can a ceramic urn be kept outdoors or buried?
We recommend an indoor display for your POJU urn. While our porcelain is durable, ceramics can crack in freezing temperatures or if dropped. If placed outdoors, choose a sheltered spot away from rain, frost, and direct sunlight.
For burial: our urns are not intended for underground interment. Moisture and soil pressure can damage the ceramic over time. If you wish to bury, we suggest a dedicated burial urn or a protective vault.
